Audition registration is open for Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical at Rome Little Theatre, welcoming aspiring actors ages 7 and up.
Auditions take place Monday and Tuesday, June 15–16, 2026, with check-in starting at 6:00pm and auditions beginning at 6:30pm.
Callbacks are scheduled for Thursday, June 18 at the Seven Hills Fellowship Building, 538 Broad Street, next to the DeSoto Theatre in downtown Rome.
The rehearsal period runs from June 24 to August 27, aiming for show dates on August 28–30, 2027.
Based on Roald Dahl’s beloved novel and featuring the celebrated music and lyrics of Tim Minchin, this magical stage production promises a vibrant community experience.

The Upstagers will host auditions for Cats: The Musical at the Rome City Auditorium on Sunday, June 28 at 2 pm, and Monday and Tuesday, June 29-30 at 7 pm.
Roles are open to local performers ages 14 to 80.
Bring energy and be ready for a song and dance audition — all hopefuls should prepare a short musical piece.
A special audition for “kittens” aged 6 to 10, plus adults unable to attend main dates, is set for June 21 at 2 pm at 1802 Redmond Rd.
An internationally renowned local legend is cast as Grizabella, while all other roles remain open.
Performances are scheduled for the first weekend of October at the Rome City Auditorium.
