Peach State Marching Festival Takes the Field in Rome, GA |
High school marching bands bring a day of live music to Barron Stadium |

Some folks hear a drumline and immediately start looking for the football score.
On Saturday, October 24, the musicians get the field to themselves as the Peach State Marching Festival & Competition returns to Barron Stadium in Rome.
Hosted by Rome Bands, the event brings regional high school marching bands together for a day of performances and competition.
For spectators, it is a chance to appreciate the musical side of fall stadium season without waiting for halftime.
There is plenty to watch in a marching show: musical phrasing, formations and the coordination it takes to keep a field full of performers moving together.
You don’t need a child in the band or a working knowledge of competition scoring to enjoy the spectacle.
An appreciation for live music and a willingness to applaud will do just fine.
Plan your visit
The festival takes place downtown at Barron Stadium, which the organizer lists at 339 West Third Street.
Be sure to head to the stadium rather than Rome High School.
The date is confirmed, but performance times have not yet been posted on the organizer’s schedule section.
Check the festival page before leaving home, particularly if you hope to catch a specific band.
Admission and parking
Tickets are sold at the gate for $10 for ages 6 and older; children 5 and younger enter free.
Cash, card and tap payments are accepted.
Parking at the stadium is limited, so the organizer recommends the 3rd Avenue Parking Deck at 131 West First Street.
Allow time for the walk across the river to the stadium.
For families, former band members and anyone who enjoys watching student performers take on a challenge, Peach State offers a good reason to spend part of a fall Saturday cheering from the stands.
