Berry College’s fall concert calendar brings piano, choral music, jazz and instrumental ensembles to Bell Recital Hall, 2277 Martha Berry Highway in Mount Berry, from October 15 through December 4, 2026.

The eight performances in the announced lineup all begin at 7 p.m., starting Thursday, October 15, with pianist Junwen Liang.

All are open to the public, and most are free—a welcome combination for Rome neighbors looking for an evening of live music close to home.

After Liang’s recital, the calendar moves through the Berry choirs, faculty artists, visiting vocal ensemble STELLARUM, jazz, community orchestra and wind ensemble before reaching the holiday concert.

You can choose a favorite style or try something you do not usually hear, without turning the outing into an interstate expedition.

Put a date on the calendar, invite somebody along, and check the individual performance listing for admission and any schedule changes before heading to campus.

A visiting pianist starts the lineup

Junwen Liang’s October 15 appearance gives piano listeners a reason to make a Thursday evening of it.

Originally from Nanning, China, Liang began studying piano at nine and made his solo debut at thirteen.

He has performed in the United States, China and Canada, earned competition honors, and completed a Graduate Performance Diploma at the Peabody Institute.

His teaching work now includes piano and chamber music at the University of Pennsylvania.

His debut EP, Colombine, released in June 2026, features music by Amy Beach and Florence Price.

That recording offers a way to meet the artist’s playing before the recital, although its repertoire should not be taken as a promise of the Berry program.

October closes with voices; November brings faculty and guests

On Tuesday, October 27, the Berry Singers and Berry Concert Choir perform a program of praise music at 7 p.m.

Thursday, November 5, brings the Faculty Artist Series with Gary Paulo, Kris Carlisle and Kathryn Nobles.

For an audience, a faculty concert is a chance to hear the musicians whose work also shapes the students on campus.

On Sunday, November 8, the visiting choral ensemble STELLARUM takes its turn at 7 p.m.

Those dates offer three different reasons to return, rather than three versions of the same evening.

Jazz, orchestra and burnished brass

Thursday, November 12, belongs to the Berry College Jazz Ensemble, directed by Artist-in-Residence John David.

The student ensemble’s announced range runs from contemporary jazz to swinging classics.

Tuesday, November 17, brings the Berry Community Orchestra and a program drawing on the British Isles.

On Thursday, November 19, the Berry College Wind Ensemble presents Burnished Winds, featuring low-brass artist Michael DeSousa.

If your listening usually stays inside one musical neighborhood, November offers several chances to wander a little.

A holiday finish on December 4

The Berry Choirs’ Holiday Concert closes this announced lineup on Friday, December 4, at 7 p.m.

It is a useful date to save before December starts filling up with school programs, family gatherings and the annual search for wherever you put the decorations.

Good music deserves a local audience

Berry’s music program presents more than forty performances each year, including vocal groups, instrumental ensembles and chamber music.

That gives Rome-area listeners access to a substantial calendar beyond these eight evenings.

You do not need to know a composer’s entire biography before you sit down and enjoy a concert.

Leave time to find Bell Recital Hall and get settled, then give the musicians the simple courtesy of your attention.

Check Berry’s music calendar and the announced fall lineup for updates before each visit.

All eight announced concerts are open to the public, and most are FREE; confirm admission for the performance you choose.
